The Father's Birthday

My Daddy turns 60 today. Isn't he a precious baby. I am so very thankful for this man. I can not even begin to express how much. I am thankful for the choices he made in his life before even meeting my mother. I am thankful for the way he loved her. And for the way he loved me and my sisters. He taught us about the Father's love. He gave us expectations for how we should be loved by our husbands and set an example for how we should love our children.
To say that I am a Daddy's girl would be an understatement. My mom is surely my best friend but my Daddy  is my Daddy and there isn't much that can trump him . His hugs, advice, laughter and smiles can heal so many hurts and Adam and I both often seek his wisdom. (Especially about anything medical;) )

One of the things I admire most about my father is his integrity. He lives his life in a quiet routine with a steadiness and loyalty. He is going to do the right thing and make the right choice.

He spoiled me. He loved me extravagantly. He pointed me in the Lord's direction. He didn't force me there but led me there with his love and example. And I will be eternally grateful.

Thanks Carrie.
I could not ask for more on my birthday. To know that I pointed you to our Lord and savior and did not block the way to Him.

So very sweet, Carrie, and all true.
Where did you find that picture? Dad used to let you drive that car down the driveway every night while sitting in his lap. I had forgotten about that. You would come bursting out the door..."wait for me Daddy!"... And he would wait at the top of the driveway and you would drive to the garage together, then come walking up to the door talking a mile a minute...well you would be doing the talking......sigh ! A good Daddy he is!
