The Verse

I read. A lot. Reading is therapy for me. The more stressed out I am the more I read. When things get bad at school you can find me in the library.I usually read different people's recommendations or chick lit or Twilight eight times. This summer my Mother in Law got me started on some Christian Fiction authors. I haven't read a lot of Christian Fiction. I guess I thought I was too literary (Ha.) But after a school year full that left my soul feeling a little dirty it was just what I needed. The Baxters (Karen Kingsbury) got me through the first two weeks of Miller being home. Then I discovered Francine Rivers and read Redeeming Love. Oh My! I loved it. Then I read A Voice in the Wind. How have I missed these? I can't even explain how these books speak to my soul. The stories draw me closer to God and help me to face the day with gentleness, joy, kindness, and patience. This week Miller and I are battling Thrush. Again. And I am in so much pain I am left wondering if I should continue nursing. If I can. Last night I was reading Redemption and came across this verse,

" My flesh and my heart may fail but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26"

It was just what I needed. I love how God shows up everywhere.

I LOVE Francine Rivers. She has a new series out - 2 books - Her Mother's Hope and Her Daughter's Dream...amazing!!! Just finished them and I'm already thinking about re-reading them.

Francine Rivers Voice in the Wind series got me through a hard time! I love that series! Have you read "the Help"? I just finished it and passed it on to my mom - we both loved it!

Francine Rivers' Mark of the Lion series is amazing as well. There are four and they need to be read in order. It has a lot of history; set in Rome during the early Christian church. Enjoy!!
I'm sorry you are feeling so bad!

Mark of the Lion series!!! You MUST read! I read them in college (and should read them again) and I cannot even describe to you how they spoke to me. So good! Hope all is well...it is fun to see pictures of your men and hear the updates!

I love both Karen Kingsbury and Francine Rivers. Great books! Redeeming Love is probably my MOST favorite book ever and I love some Baxters!
