This week started with a visit from Emy, Griffin and Xander. They came to play and hang out and Emy and I snuck off to see Eclipse! To thank them I forced them to stay for dinner. Grilled Basil Lemon Chicken and Whole Grain Pasta, veggies and 7up Biscuits. Xander was keeping us all entertained in his Bumbo seat making some of the most hilarious faces ever. Its been awhile since I have heard Adam laugh that hard.
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday Nana came to T-town. She played hard! And helped with the laundry. Stayed up past her bedtime chatting with us. She took Noah out of the house to run off energy and of course they made a trip to Target. Did you know they have racecars there? She also took him to the Children's Hands On Museum here in town. But he seems to remember the racecars better. We went swimming one night. Noah had so much fun with all of us in the water. We took Nana to storytime at the library on Thursday and she got to play in the bubbles which is Noah's favorite part. She spoiled us with all the attention Noah got and all the amazing rest I got. That's what grandmothers are for right? Spoiling??
We spent most of the time hiding indoors. In the air conditioning. Its a little warm outside. But Thursday after dinner we ventured outside. Adam and Noah rode bikes and tractors. Miller and I chilled out on the porch, laughing at Adam and his ride. (Those ankles look pretty good for being 35 weeks pregnant!)
This week was camping week. (Our Summer Curriculum plans pretty much went out the window, we still get books on our topic, and do a craft or two but not the extensive goals I had. I underestimated how tired I would be!) So today we read all our camping books, made a flashlight and a big tent in the living room. Aunt Emy offered to make S'mores the next time we are at Mimi's. (I thought having Hershey Bars and Marshmallows in the house might be a little too tempting right now, I am feeling very weak....). Noah loved playing in the tent, almost as much as he enjoyed tearing it down. In fact we made until 5 o'clock before watching our first Diego.
That was pretty much our week. A couple more and life will look much different!
Next week looks like some more of the same. Spoiling, resting, and staying cool. We are taking Noah on a "about to not be an only child" special outing and then Mimi is coming! I hope everyone is enjoying the summer like we are with air conditioning, rest, and spoiling!
