The Sweet Life

Do you ever have one of those days where God reminds you just how blessed you are? Things seem to go your way and you are taken aback by the thoughtfullness of people and how God uses everyone around you to tell you how much He loves you.

Today was one of those days. I was running slightly late for a early morning prom meeting. I was greeted by a coworker who was ready to help me get my day started by giving me important reminders and tips for some new things we were trying out. The girls on my committee were excited and cheerful. One stopped on her way out telling me she had applied to Auburn after visiting and getting a good vibe about the campus and falling in love with AU. Adam and I got to share lunch over my desk. I tried out a new strategy that worked really well.

Noah and Brooke both ran up to me as I walked into their school and crawled into my lap. Noah was sad to leave, which makes me happy (becasue he is happy there). I signed up to bake cookies for Noah's first class Christmas Party.

I heard one of my current favorite songs on the radio. There was a beautiful sunset.

Then on my porch was a suprise package. From my sweet cousin Dana. Inside was a cake saver and sifter (and a ornament for Noah) and a sweet note about helping me to carry on Granny's legacy by aiding me making the famous cake. It is one of the most thoughtful gifts I've ever recieved.

Noah and I lit the fire and made a Christmas Tree craft, read stories , and sang carols. Then we made pizzas for dinner. Adam gave him a bath. I did some Christmas shopping online. I read Noah stories we got at the library yesterdayand sang lullabies. And then I got in the bathtub with a good book.

It was just a normal day with a few surprises thrown in. I just feel like I had my eyes open to what God was trying to tell me, "I love you. You are blessed. Look at your sweet life."
