I feel like I need to take a day off just to spend time in my kitchen! I wish it were possible. I love baking for Christmas. I love making a total mess of flour and sugar everywhere. And keeping my oven on for days. I love the smell and of course the sampling. I usually host our family and some friends for a cookie party but this year we are not having our annual Cookie Party. Little Xander is soon to arrive and I want to be available at any moment for his sweet arrival. So it will just be me and Charlie in the kitchen this year. I will be making chocolate chip cookies and my sister's crack cookies (they don't have a name and they are addictive.) for Noah's Christmas party, sugar cookies for Noah to decorate, peanut bark, peppermint bark and cinnamon butter for neighbors, and then next week another chocolate pound cake for my daddy. If I could take a day off to bake I would try my hand at these... But instead I will be preparing our youth for their semester exams. But by night a baker I will be! Don't you wish I could send you a box of it through the blog?? I was excited about how I packaged Noah's teacher presents (bath salts, peanut bark, and peppermint bark). What is baking in your kitchen? What ideas do you have for teacher/neighbor presents??
