It's a Girl!! Last Wednesday we found out that Aunt Robin and Uncle Chris are having a Baby Girl Evans. Her adorable name is a secret right now but I assure you it is sweet and has an great story behind it! I look forward to sharing it with you in April when Little Baby Girl E is here.
There has been lots of prayer and anticipation for this little miracle baby. It was so good to see Robin and Chris in person and watch their excitement over Baby E. There wasn't a lot of surprise involved in the process so to reveal to family and friends the sex of this little miracle there was a little dinner party. After dinner an Edgar's cake was brought out with blue and pink booties. We each picked a pink or blue plate to show off our guesses. The cake was cut by the two grandmothers. And the icing layers revealed pink icing and just like that we have our first NIECE!!!
Niece. I can see her all sweet and pink wrapped in sweet pink blankets. I love her already.
The coolest thing about family is the different personalities and how we all approach things in different ways. I admire my sister in law for many things. She is organized, practical and go get em. Three things I will struggle with my whole life. It allows her to do things I only dream about like having the time to hunt down those fabulous black boots she sported over Thanksgiving that I am sure she got a deal on :)
And she is taking motherhood in the same way. The Evans family of three is already registered! It took Adam and I months. I think we finished just in time for a three week window before our shower in October. We consulted everyone we knew with children and poured over Internet reviews for weeks. I was pleased with our decisions. Especially our bottles, stroller, and video monitor. Robin and Chris have done their research and have great registries built all with plenty of time to spare!I am totally impressed. They are also being practical. I think a week after I knew Noah was a boy he already had three outfits and at least one thing with an N. But you can't take back clothes with names on it or pass it down to future children. Very true and practical. So I will be taking the organized and practical aspects of the Evans family in mind as I spoil my first niece. I have one special project in mind and maybe one or two other things with an "E" to be more practical and spoiling her with gift cards so Mom and Dad can make full use their amazing registry!
I look forward to holding her (my first niece!!!, did I say that already?) in my arms in April! Until then I will just have to make do with stealing sonogram pictures off Robin's blog! And hoping that some her organization, practicalness, and go get em will rub off on me over the years!
