Last weekend Emily had a baby shower. It was very sweet and we spent time praying for her and Xander, thanking God for the life he is. We may wish for different circumstances but we were celebrating Xander. My mother in law came. She didn't really know anyone outside of my sisters, my mom and I. Not only did she come to support Emily, she has the first to pray after it was opened up. I was really touched by that. That is family.
One of the times I was most grateful for my parents (and there are so many!) was the Christmas after Noah was born. He was just few weeks old and he had his days and nights mixed up. Adam got some kind of serious virus with a fever and really bad body aches. I had been up for 38 hours straight when they pulled up to my house. I cried with relief. God had rescued me through them. And because I had just stopped breastfeeding they were able to take over and I slept for 14 hours straight. That is family.
My family loves playing games, traditions, the beach, spending time together, good food, good music but most of all they love God. And for that I am the most thankful!
