The Day from a Sitcom Script and a Few Favorites

Being Noah's mom is always interesting. Today has felt like some sitcom writer was trying out funny toddler antics to see which an audience would laugh at the most.
Let's see...

Bus went swimming in my cereal bowl.

Noah jumped fully clothed into his rainwater filled pool that he has not touched all summer no matter how much B begged (peez noa, com on, git in).

Noah tried unsuccessfully to do a headstand on Charlie's back.

He told me three times...poo poo, when he didn't really have one. He thought it was funny to have me smell check.

He keeps bringing me my cell phone or pointing to it asking to call Aunt Jenny. When (I finally called her he wouldn't speak and kept smiling his shy smile and burying his head in my lap.)

Adam surprised me with a very healthy lunch from Milo's. When he was getting ready to leave we were standing in the kitchen talking. It was quiet. (That should have been a warning.) We turned around to find Noah sucking down my Mega Size Milo's Sweet Tea. He laughed and laughed at our shocked and horrified faces.

After that you can just imagine......

Needless to say he is down for nap and so will I shortly.

But before I take a rest I wanted to steal an idea from my dear friend Laura. She had a show and tell of sorts last Friday and I thoroughly enjoyed her post sharing some of her favorite things. (She also had a very creative and sweet post about how her 11 bridesmaids have produced 11 children. I know if you started reading her blog you will see just why I love her so much!) I have some new favorites I just can't keep quiet about. And if you've seen me in person in the past five days you already know about them! Laura had a cute name about five favorites for Friday or something cute like that but it's Wednesday and I can't think of anything cutesy.

#1: Ben and Jerry's Cake Batter Ice Cream

This one doesn't need a lot of explanation. Its ice cream that tastes like cake batter. And has chunks of chocolate frosting. Its like they read my mind. They only make it in the small size. Good thing. I did make it last a whole week. That's not bad right? I could have eaten all in one sitting but I didn't. That's self control ;)

#2 Redken Chemistry Shots

It is no secret that my hair has been looking bad this summer. BAD. I kinda ruined or killed it really. I went to try to resuscitate it at a new salon recommended by my neighbor. Fabulous. I love it. It took all day but the results were well worth it. It is shiny, soft and beautiful dark brown again (as opposed to orange). This is partly due the patience and hard work of my new stylist Paige (who I will go to for the rest of my life!) and the deep conditioning treatments from Redken Chemistry Shots. Get one!! Your hair will love you for it!

#3: Pure Grace Buffing Wash by Philosophy

Smell can be therapy. It really can. I order this off Ebay. I love it. I adore it. I want to shower ten times a day. Not only is the smell amazing clean and happy but the wash itself has made my skin soft and smooth. I own the body butter as well now. And as my allowance allows I will own the spray, the salt scrub, the shower cream, the lotion, I would pump it through the air vents if I could. I will also try Amazing Grace, Baby Grace, and Inner Grace. I love it! It instantly cheers me up with just one whiff. I have already received many compliments. And it makes Adam smile that I get so excited over shower gel. I love it! Did I say that already?? I might go take a shower right now after talking about it.

#4 Answered Prayer-

This is by far my favorite thing! I know God always answers prayers, not always in ways that we like or "hear" but over the past week He has been working miracles and blessing into the lives of my sisters (both blood and in-law) and friends. I am so excited to see how He continues to move for them. Last night he answered a request for me that I would be able to bless a friend of mine with some free jewelry. I held my first premier jewelry party for my friend Kerri. She worked hard at making sure she had a lot of people there and despite rain and tornado warnings she got $300 free!!! and she is still pulling in orders! I am so excited she gets to pamper herself with beautiful free jewelry. I cried on the way home because she was so excited.

#5- Afternoon Naps. Night. Night.

You deserve a nap - and I love naps, too!

Okay, first of all -- I used to think that Poo smell checks were the grossest thing ever - until I had to start doing them. Now I fully understand the necessity.
Second - I am adopting your philosophy of dressing more professionally and just plain ol' feeling pretty this year. I can't thank you enough for helping me with the free jewelry. I hate to sound so superficial, but I fully believe this will hlep me feel better about myself. Thank you for caring about me and being my point of inspriation at school. I LOVE YOU!!!!
