Changing the Name of My Blog

Noah has a CD that I love called Sing Over Me. I love singing to him or attempting to sing. It is worship music so it is also an intimate time of praise and prayer for me directed towards Noah. There is one song about being grateful in all things and circumstances and finding God in all. This has been hard for me lately with all the sickness and the struggle of not being a stay at home mom like I always dreamed. So this song has become very meaningful to me and I tear up every time I hear it. I do have so much to be grateful for. In the song she says:

'How can I thank you? What can I bring? What can these poor hands lay at the feet of a king? So I'll sing you a love song, its all that I have to show you I'm grateful for holding my life in your hands. With every breath I take in, I'll thank you. "

I got to thinking about how my life should be a love song to God, how my day to day should praise Him. Even when I don't feel like it! Even when the kids at school get me down or the flu runs through our family again, or I feel like a failure as a daughter, sister, friend, wife or mother. So I decided to rename the blog, "My love song" as a reminder to me that the way I live and the way I love other is the love song I "sing" to God. What do I want the lyrics and melody to be? I hope that at least some of the time he finds it as beautiful and touching as as the sweet song I sing to Noah. And that through my life these crazy kids and my family and friends hear me thanking God for blessings and His love. And not too much complaining.

Carrie, you are going to make me cry over here. I'm telling you - you should be a writer. You are so eloquent (sp? - ha, you can tell I'm far from it). But, seriously, that is so sweet and I would love to know the cd you are talking about. I love singing to Savannah but I don't always remember the words of songs or I can't think of a good song to sing, etc. And, I certainly know what you mean about feeling like a failure sometimes, I think we all have those days! You are a wonderful mommy!

Thanks Shea! It's always good to hear some encouragement. The CD is Sing Over Me, its got different artists on it, like Nicole Noremdan and others. We also have one called Nicky's Jazz Lullabies that is really good too. I found both of them on Amazon.
